Swine Flu Questions and Answers

If you recently visited one of the countries or areas where swine flu has been identified or you have been in close contact with someone who has confirmed or probable swine flu it is recommended you monitor your health closely for the next seven days.

There is no need for you to isolate yourself from other people as long as you remain well.

If you develop flu-like symptoms stay at home and phone your GP or NHS 24 on 0845 4 24 24 24.

We've grouped our questions to try to help you find the answer you are looking for.

Unlike seasonal flu (i.e. one vial for one person) swine flu is delivered in batches of 10 ( i.e. one vial immunises 10 people - vial must be disposed after opening and use). Swine flu immunisation is therefore being done by invite and arranged appointment only. If you have not yet received a letter or think you may be entitled to be immunised then please contact the surgery to arrange a suitable time.
